So the first weekend of 2008 was a relaxing one.
Found out Friday afternoon that I get to go to a web publishing conference on the company's tab at the end of January. Bonus: it's in San Francisco.
Aside from an hour layover in LAX, I haven't ever been to California so I'm pretty excited.
I decided to pay for an extra night at the hotel so I could have some time to futz around in a new city. I've already decided that the majority of my day will be spent at SFMOMA.
I browsed the collection highlights and they have 2 of my favorite pieces in their collection. I did my thesis for my art minor on this one by Marcel Duchamp:

Yes, it's a urinal. Ask me why it's so damn important and prepare for a long explanation that might just make you appreciate ceramic bathroom fixtures in a way you never thought possible.
They also have my favorite Rothko on hand:

PLUS the Olafur Eliasson exhibition looks delicious.
Looks like I'll be spending my WHOLE day at the museum. C'est la Vie (hat tip of the beret to Duchamp along with that one. Har har).
